April 27-29th: Sakura Con
is still the best anime convention! It has only gotten better! It surpassed last
year with more offerings to the otaku and the competition was more complex and
more dedicated in the cosplay then ever before.
We made it there on time for karaoke this year but unfortunately as I was three
people away from going up on the open-mic, someone stole my song. It was sad because
they were already going up for their third time plus they didn't even use the
karaoke version I had worked so hard to learn. ANYWAY, that was my pout story
but if you know me, then it is pretty tear jerking...I guess. But I still had
fun. "Junpei" (Virgil) got in the game contest on King of Fighters and whooped
arse! I prowled around as "Celcia". Here's our Character
Info.
Saturday, it was all about the cosplay. We hooked up with some friends from last
year for a Baka-licious skit
which ended up winning two awards for "Best of Show/Overall" and "Best Performance".
Oh it was awesomely fun! We even got complimented by the big wigs sittin' judges
including an enthusiastic Steve Bennett. The other skits were really really good!
One sailor moon skit was very funny -choreographed with what looked like the whole
cast of the anime. Anyway, the dance this year was not as good as last year. The
music just did not groove. It could've had alot more variety and dance tunes but
I still gave it a shot for a couple of songs.
Sunday, we got ready to go but hit the dealer's room one more time and gave hugs to friends on the way out. All in all, it rocked as usual!
As I say, Make the trip!!!Make the trip!!!Make the trip!!! It beats up AX anyday!!!
Ok that's all for now folks. Pictures are up!
