Sakura-Con 00'
April 28-30: A gift from the anime high ones, Sakura Con is the best I've ever been to! Rating 10! I was in the mood to try somewhere new and through a friend, who turned out to be a head of the con, I decided to shoot for long distance and head up to the beautiful state of Washington. The flight was the most beatiful part of all as the snow-covered gigantic mountains and wide rivers caverned down and branched out to the golden coastal horizon. So, getting my head down outta the clouds to make this briefer than an essay, we landed and set up in our hotel room Friday night...around 12am...unfortunately too late to join in the karaoke contest which I'll add was packed with the entire con attendance until early morning hours.
Next day we registered for Sat.&Sun. and begun partying. The seminars they had going were awesome and entertaining and educational and then we were out to get our tickets for the masquerade. I didn't go in costume because I didn't know what I was in for with flight rules and comfort so I missed out yet again for masquerade. But I made some really awesome friends and hung out with Tristan MacAvery and a couple other big shot anime voices. Tristan is the funnest guy and the guests even had set up a hotel room "Hospitabiliy Room" for anyone to come in and kick it with them and partake of the sacred snack table. The masquerade was full of laughs and we viewed some of the BEST anime music videos I have ever seen! Noone critized anyone even if the skit was kinda eyebrow raising to some or completely lame to others. It didn't matter. It was equal. And we cheared everyone on no matter what they did. I believe there was a standing ovation for a girl who dressed and litterally became FF7 all by herself with her sword to a 5 minute instrumental. Anyway, the dance on saturday night was really good and I freestyled through the night with everyone full of smiles. Simply Sunday we headed out to make our flight. The end...until next year!
